Training

T’NT is acutely focused on exceptional customer service, with a proud history of providing complete solutions for clients. T’NT offers exclusive opportunities for training with our team of experienced instructors, consisting of current and former Tactical, Military, Fire, and Industry Professional Rescue Technicians.

Tactical Rope Training

T’NT has grown into Canada’s largest supplier of Tactical Rope Program hardware and training. With three current and former Tactical Unit members on staff alongside a former CANSOF member, we have the experience and expertise to back up our product knowledge.

Experienced members who have taken our TRL course may join our Tactical Structural Climbing (TSC) course to better understand the risks and techniques involved with climbing and moving horizontally across structures such as radio towers and bridges.

We currently have two courses that are hosted by municipal departments several times a year. The first, Tactical Rope Operator (TRO) is designed for the tactical rope operator with limited experience.

The second course, Tactical Rope Instructor (TRI), takes a deeper dive into previously learned principles to give the Rappel Master a better understanding of the concepts and limitations applied to systems.

Rescue Rope Training

Our rescue courses are designed for Industry Professionals and Emergency Response Team (Mine Rescue Team) members who face unique challenges and limitations. We understand teams and members are often limited with their time on rope, yet they are keen to take their personal skills and knowledge to the next level.

T’NT has two templated rescue courses in place: Industrial Rope Rescue Level 1 (IR1) and Industrial Rope Rescue Level 2 (IR2). The Level 1 course takes participants from tying knots to performing basic slope and high angle rescues. Level 2 builds upon those skills and gives participants the confidence to manage patients around obstacles and face difficult edge transitions. To ensure consistency and proficiency amongst all team members, the course curriculum references the NFPA 1006 standard for training objectives.

Speciality Rope Training

In addition to our template courses, T’NT also offers specialty workshops, tailored consulting, and bespoke courses for customers interested in hosting a course. TNT’s instructor cadre has decades of experience in multiple rescue disciplines, including Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Tower Rescue, and Tactical/Rappel Master Programs. Our instructors are required to attend regular professional development with the priority placed on improving instructional techniques and expanding their knowledge and skillset. Using that experience, we’ve created specialty workshops that target rescue technicians looking to become more versatile and informed while using rope for access and rescue.

With current and former fire, police, and military members on staff, we also offer consulting services for teams that have existing programs but could use some constructive feedback and guidance.

T’NT has been a proud partner with CMC over the past decade, by supplying CMC equipment into the Canadian market. T’NT’s team members have completed several of CMC’s courses over the years, and we’re honoured to now join the ATP program, and deliver these courses in Canada.
